Search Talk
You can search text within Talk to find posts, messages, files, links, and content posted by specific groups and users.
Search using keywords, including user and group names. Use @mentions and #hashtags. Add a filter to refine the search results. Select a date range to see results posted within a set time period. The most relevant content that matches your search displays at the top of the results.
Guidelines
- The search scans text in groups, posts, messages, and other content.
- Comments are not included in search results.
- File names are returned in search results, but the content of files is not searched.
- Search results include only content you have permissions to see. For example, you will not see any results for groups to which you are not a member.
To search from Talk mobile
Search using keywords or add filters to refine your search.
- Tap Feed.

. The search panel opens.
- Enter a keyword, @mention, or #hashtag and tap Search. The results display, the most recent first.

Scroll the list to see all results. Posts that contain the keyword display. If you entered a user or group name, all posts by that user or group display.
- Tap a result to view the details.
- Tap a user or group name to see all related posts.

To search using filters, tap
Filters.
- Set one or more filter options as needed:
- Posted By. Tap the field, type a user name, and select the user from the results. Tap Done. You can filter on multiple users at a time.
- Groups. Tap the field, type a group name, and select the group from the results. Tap Done. You can filter on multiple groups at a time.
- Start Date and End Date. Specify a start and end date to return only content posted within this date range.
- The post includes. Select Image s, Link s, Videos, and/or Documents.
- Tap Apply Filter. The search results display.
- Set one or more filter options as needed:
- To close the Search screen, tap X.
To search from the Talk desktop
Search using keywords or add filters to refine your search.
- From the Feed, click Search. The Search panel opens.
- Enter a keyword, @mention, or #hashtag and click Search. A list of posts that contain the keyword displays, the most recent posts first.

Scroll the list to see all results. If you entered a user or group name, all posts by that user or group display.
- Click a result to view the details.
- Click a user or group name to see all related posts.
- To start another search, click Clear results.

. - Set one or more filter options as needed:
- Author. Click the drop-down list and select a user name. You can filter on multiple users at a time.
- Group. Click the drop-down list and select a group name. You can filter on multiple groups at a time.
- Start Date and End Date. Specify a start and end date to return only content posted within this date range.
- Post Type. Select one or more post types including Event, Poll, Recognition, and so on.
- Post Content. Select Images, Links, Videos, and/or Documents.
- Click Apply. The search results display.
- To remove a filter, click its X.
- Click Reset to clear the filter criteria or Filter to return to the Search field.
- Set one or more filter options as needed:
- To close the Search panel, click X or Cancel.
