UKG Pro Workforce Management Data Hub
Data Hub is a secure, enterprise-grade data warehouse integrated with UKG Pro Workforce Management and deployed to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Data Hub is designed to extract large volumes of UKG Pro Workforce Management data, process the data, and deliver it to the BigQuery data structure of your GCP project.
About Data Hub
- Data Hub has numerous pipelines that process and deliver different types of data, including schedule, self service, forecast, people, and timecard. Wrappers are used to run pipelines in logical groupings and sequences. Initial deliveries are historical and subsequent deliveries are incremental.
- Pipelines are executed to securely extract data using APIs installed with UKG Pro Workforce Management. They deliver the data into tables and views in BigQuery for your GCP project.
- After data is delivered to BigQuery, you can analyze, monitor, and view data reports in third-party, business intelligence applications such as Tableau and Qlik.
Data Hub Configuration Portal
Data Hub Configuration Portal is a browser-based application that Data Hub administrators use to monitor the status of the Data Hub processes and configure how and when the data is delivered to BigQuery.
Log in to Data Hub Configuration Portal to:
- Monitor pipeline and wrapper performance
- Configure pipeline settings
- View job history
- Audit tenant configuration changes
- Set up mappings for paycodes, location types, and custom drivers. Note: Mapping values in bulk is available for paycodes and fiscal calendars.
- Schedule wrapper execution
For more information, see UKG Pro WFM Data Hub Configuration Portal.
Prerequisites
Before you work with Data Hub, note the following:
- To use Data Hub with UKG Pro Workforce Management data, integration steps must be completed, including provisioning the tenant, specifying Data Hub user accounts, ensuring a GCP project is configured for Data Hub use, granting access to the UKG Service Account, and so on. For information about UKG Pro Workforce Management configuration and integration with Data Hub, provisioning the instance, GCP project creation and setup, and using the Data Hub Administration Portal to maintain integration and credential information, see the UKG Community Knowledgebase article UKG Pro Workforce Management Data Hub Customer Setup Guide.
- Before users can access Data Hub Configuration Portal, in
UKG Pro Workforce Management the Configuration Portal control point must be allowed in their Function Access Profile (FAP).
For more information, see the
UKG Community Knowledgebase article
Data Hub Config Portal - FAP Based Access With UKG Pro Workforce Management.
Note: Data Hub Configuration Portal access is based on the FAP for the your primary/default role within UKG Pro WFM. If you have multiple roles, you cannot access the portal unless the FAP is associated to your primary/default role.
- After the control point is allowed, users can create a UKG Pro Workforce Management Home page custom tile which allows them to access Data Hub Configuration Portal through UKG Pro Workforce Management. For more information about adding a Data Hub custom tile configured with the tenant URL, see the UKG Community Knowledgebase article How To Create Data Hub Configuration Portal Custom Tile in UKG Pro Workforce Management.
- Before the Data Hub administrator can access the Administration Portal, a Data Hub administrator user account must be designated for the Data Hub tenant. If this has not already been done, contact UKG Global Support to initiate the process. For more information, see the UKG Community Knowledgebase article How To Request Access to UKG Pro Workforce Management Data Hub Admin Portal.
-
When Data Hub is first deployed, paycode mappings are bulk loaded into your Data Hub project. The mappings establish the paycode relationship between UKG Pro Workforce Management and the Data Hub data model in the tenant. Data Hub admins can do this directly in the Configuration Portal. For more information, see Paycode Mapping Bulk Update.
Data Hub also supports the fiscal calendar-based reporting and analysis of your UKG Pro Workforce Management data. Before you can work with your fiscal calendar in the Configuration Portal, you must first import the fiscal calendar data by uploading a CSV file that maps the calendar dates to your fiscal periods. For more information, see Fiscal Calendar.
Note: As an alternative, supply the source paycodes and fiscal calendar and their appropriate mapping values to a UKG Representative in CSV files. The UKG Representative will then bulk load the spreadsheets directly into your GCP Data Hub project during implementation.
