Import People Records — Universal

Run the integration to import people records.

This integration pack imports employee records from a flat file.

Note: This integration cannot import employees' skills and certifications.

Universal integration packs exchange data by way of flat files, either to export data to the file or import data from the file. Other systems access the data in these flat files to complete the import or export integration. The default settings allow rapid configuration and runs of the integration process, while the exposure of the data maps and cross-reference tables in the extensions allows overrides and customizations of the default data mappings or values.

  1. Go to the login page. Enter your username and password. Click Tap Log In.
  2. Verify that the people records were not imported before
    1. Click Tap Main Menu > Maintenance > People Information.
    2. Select Search .
    3. Enter employee names to confirm that they are in the database.
  3. Select the universal people import integration
    1. Click Tap Main Menu > Maintenance > Integrations.
    2. Click Tap Run an Integration .
    3. Select the integration from the list. Click Tap Select.
    4. (Optional) Enter a unique Integration Run Name to make it easier to identify the run of the integration. Alternatively, use the default name which ends with a date and time stamp.
  4. Set parameters
    1. Click Tap Choose File. Navigate to and select the required file.
    2. (Optional) Enter a different Filename to select a different source file.
    3. If prompted, edit parameters. Example: Include or exclude new, inactive, or terminated employees.
    4. If the people records include new managers, the manager assignment for their employees can have errors. To prevent these errors, make sure that the manager records are imported before the employee records as follows:
      1. Select DisableReportsTo and run the integration.
      2. Clear DisableReportsTo and run the integration again.
  5. Run the integration
    1. Select Run Integration.
    2. Wait for the confirmation that the integration completed or failed. Close the panel.
    3. Click Tap Refresh .
    4. To see details, select the integration. Select Run Summary.
  6. If the integration failed, see Resubmit Failed Integrations.
  7. Verify the results
    1. Click Tap Main Menu > Maintenance > People Information.
    2. Select Search .
    3. Enter employee names to confirm that they are in the database.
