Import Business Structures — Universal

Run the integration to import business structure.

This integration imports the business structure of an organization from a flat file. It adds the location types and jobs that make up the hierarchical business structure for your organization.

Tip: Normally this is the first integration to run because other integrations require that the business structure be in place before they can be run.

Universal integration packs exchange data by way of flat files, either to export data to the file or import data from the file. Other systems access the data in these flat files to complete the import or export integration. The default settings allow rapid configuration and runs of the integration process, while the exposure of the data maps and cross-reference tables in the extensions allows overrides and customizations of the default data mappings or values.

  1. Go to the login page. Enter your username and password. Click Tap Log In.
  2. Review the business structure to import

    If you do not have access to Administration Setup, contact your system administrator to identify the business structure.

    1. Click Tap Main Menu > Administration > Application Setup.
    2. Select Business Structure Setup > Jobs and Business Structure.
    3. Select Manage > Locations.
    4. Select plus to expand the Organization list and any of the sub-locations. Tip: Select the plus in the column header to expand all levels of the organization at once.
    5. To show the hierarchical business structure, select Manage > Jobs. Select column headers to change the sort order.
  3. Select the universal business structure import integration
    1. Click Tap Main Menu > Maintenance > Integrations.
    2. Click Tap Run an Integration .
    3. Select the integration from the list. Click Tap Select.
    4. (Optional) Enter a unique Integration Run Name to make it easier to identify the run of the integration. Alternatively, use the default name which ends with a date and time stamp.
  4. Set parameters
    1. Click Tap Choose File. Navigate to and select the required file.
    2. If prompted, edit parameters. Example: Enter a different Generic Job, Business Structure, or Org Type source file.
  5. Run the integration
    1. Select Run Integration.
    2. Wait for the confirmation that the integration completed or failed. Close the panel.
    3. Click Tap Refresh .
    4. To see details, select the integration. Select Run Summary.
  6. If the integration failed, see Resubmit Failed Integrations.
  7. Verify the results
    1. Click Tap Main Menu > Administration > Application Setup.
    2. Select Business Structure Setup > Jobs and Business Structure.
    3. Select Manage > Locations.
    4. Select plus to expand the Organization list and any of the sub-locations. Tip: Select the plus in the column header to expand all levels of the organization at once.
    5. To show the hierarchical business structure, select Manage > Jobs. Select column headers to change the sort order.
